  How They Got Started
Bone Thugs & Harmony broke out and came together as a small-time rap group on the eastside of Clevland around 1990. After working hard and struggling to get gigs, the group had almost given up trying to make it big. Shortly after they had contemplated throwing in the towel, they heard about and Eazy-E concert coming to Clevland. They scraped together all of the money they had saved from weeks of gigs and bought themselves front row seats. Somehow by some streak of luck they were offered backstage passes by a guy who didn't want them anymore. They went backstage and pleaded for an audition before Eazy-E. Eazy-E heard them and signed them on the spot as openers for his next big concert in California. Once again the struggling group scraped together their funds for a run across the country. They were signed officially the night of the concert and began to consult with Eazy-E for ideas. Almost 13 months later the group now known as Bone Thugs & Harmony, released their first CD entitled Creeping On The Come Up. Although the group hasn't released an album on the pay role of Ruthless Records, they did not achieve the stars status they longed for until their second album Est. 1999 eternal. This album topped billboard charts for several weeks and put the group on the map for good. About 18 months later their mentor and now dear friend Eazy-E died of aids. This death became as a shock to mayn and hurt them deeply. Around the same time, a friend of theirs named Wally was killed in a gang crossfire. This coupled with the shocking death of Eazy-E inspired the group to write the hit single See You At The Crossroads. This single stayed on the charts for several weeks and broke many records for single sales.
